Turkish Dinnerware Brands: Who Makes What and How to Choose

Six Turkish makers of dinner, breakfast and tea sets: what each lists, who has hotel lines, how breakage is handled and who delivers abroad.

This guide covers six Turkish makers. Three are porcelain makers that also keep ranges for hotels and restaurants: Kütahya Porselen, Güral and Porland. Two list no hotel range and sell through their own stores and web shops: Karaca and Emsan. The sixth, Nehir, lists stainless-steel cutlery and a few porcelain sets. Below: which pieces each one lists, what it says about breakage and whether it delivers abroad, from its own shop, help and delivery pages (checked 18 October 2026). Pick the piece first, then the shop. Delivery abroad is the catch.

Kütahya Porselen

Home series named Porselen, Bone, Renkli & Nano and Özel Tasarımlar, and a separate HORECA range. Its web shop lists dinner, breakfast, coffee and tea sets for 2, 4, 6 or 12 people. It does not yet send web-shop orders abroad: its FAQ says “soon” and sends bulk orders to a contact. “Since 1976”, it says, and it names a Superior Bone Porcelain line, a Stoneware range and a lifetime guarantee that the pattern will not wear off, applied since 1996. Its shop lists dinner sets for 1, 4, 6 or 12 people, cutlery and a baby Mama Seti. Delivery: Türkiye only, by PTT.

Its site title promises a 50-year warranty; its pages give no terms for it, so ask for them in writing.

What a hotel line is

HORECA is the trade word for hotels, restaurants and cafés. Three of the six keep one apart from their home ranges: Kütahya Porselen’s site has a HORECA menu of its own (lines such as Porselen, Bone, Renkli & Nano, Tavola and Mix & Match), Güral publishes Horeca catalogues (Alisa, Digibone, White, Bone) and Porland links to a HORECA page.

The makers’ pages don’t say whether a hotel piece can be bought singly. Ask the shop; the phrase is under “Words for the shop”.

Names on the box: porcelain, bone, stoneware

Makers name their lines more than they describe them. Pick a word to see which of the six use it and what they call it. What a set is made of, and whether it goes in the dishwasher or the microwave, is on the care line of the product page, not in the series name: read it for the set you buy.

Whether the clay is called porcelain, bone or stoneware is the maker’s own description; the shops do not give the recipe. In the EU, ceramic articles meant for food must stay within limits on the lead and cadmium they release, and a written declaration of compliance must go with them at each trade stage up to retail (Directive 2005/31/EC). No shop page mentions it; a business importing sets should ask for it.

Kişilik and parça: people and pieces

Two different counts

Kişilik is how many people the set serves; parça is how many pieces are in the box. The two numbers do not follow each other. Porland lists a 6-person set of 30 pieces, Nehir 6-person sets of 18, 24 and 27 pieces, and a Nehir cutlery set for 12 people of 72 pieces or 84.

So the label alone does not tell you whether the set has soup plates or only dinner plates, bowls or a serving dish. Ask for the list of what is in the box and count what you need.

Photograph first

Every shop below asks for the same proof: photos of the broken pieces and your order number. Take them before you throw anything away, and look at the box at the door while the courier is there.

The deadlines differ a great deal, from 3 business days to 14: pick the shop to see its own rule.

Whose rule?

  • Spare pieces – The shop banner promises a “kırık parça garantisi”: spare pieces for breakage in transit.
  • At the door – Look at the box before you sign. If it is damaged, ask the courier for a damage report (Hasar Tespit Tutanağı) and hand the parcel back with it.
  • Found later – Send photos of the broken pieces with your order number within 7 days of delivery.

  • Badge – The web shop shows a “Kırık Parça Garantisi” badge. Its pages give no steps or deadline for a breakage claim: ask before you order.
  • Returns – Within 14 days of delivery, by DHL, free of charge, with the invoice enclosed; a return without the invoice is not taken.

  • Photos fast – Send photos of the broken pieces and of the delivery note to customer services within 3 business days of delivery.
  • A faulty piece – A manufacturing fault can be exchanged in a Porland store within 14 days, with the delivery note or e-invoice and the item.

  • Only the broken piece – Skip the return and ask for the piece alone through the Kırık Parça Talep Formu (broken-piece request form).
  • Karaca: up to five pieces – Send a photo of each broken piece on its own, the order number and the name of the piece; a spare is sent.
  • Or return the lot – Within 14 business days of the invoice date. Refuse a damaged parcel with the courier present.

Where to buy, from where you are

All six sell in Türkiye. Beyond Türkiye, none of them says it delivers, which is the result of this check. Pick where you are.

Where are you?

  • The web shops – All six run their own. Kütahya Porselen sends with Yurtiçi Kargo and Hepsijet, Porland with PTT.
  • No cash on delivery – Kütahya Porselen states that it has no cash-on-delivery option.
  • A missing piece – See the breakage chapter: four of the six have a broken-piece promise or form.
  • Stores – Karaca, Emsan and Porland each list their stores on their sites; Kütahya Porselen has a sales-points page, Güral a dealers page for Türkiye and Northern Cyprus.
  • Carrying it – A boxed dinner set is bulky and heavy: ask the shop to pack it for the plane.
  • Hotel ranges – They are in catalogues, not on the shelf: ask a dealer whether single pieces are sold.
  • Porland and Nehir – Both say in writing that delivery is inside Türkiye only; Nehir also leaves out Northern Cyprus.
  • Kütahya Porselen – Its FAQ says web-shop delivery abroad will start “soon”; bulk orders go through a contact.
  • Güral, Karaca, Emsan – Their help pages say nothing about delivery abroad. Güral lists an export desk for trade; Karaca takes franchise enquiries from abroad.
  • What works – Ask first, in writing. Or buy in a store and ask for travel packing, or have the shop send it to an address in Türkiye.
  • Into the EU – In the EU, ceramic articles meant for food must stay within limits on the lead and cadmium they release, and a written declaration of compliance must go with them at each trade stage up to retail (Directive 2005/31/EC). No shop page mentions it; a business importing sets should ask for it. For the duty and VAT on a parcel, ask the shop for the total you will pay.
