Turkey trip cost calculator: distance, fuel and tolls on one receipt
Pick two of Turkey’s 81 provinces. Example: Istanbul to Ankara is 453 km in the official KGM table, which at 7.5 L/100 km and ₺80.38 a litre of petrol means about ₺2,731 of fuel before any toll. Change the trip and the receipt below rebuilds line by line, each with its source.

This is an estimate. Distances are KGM’s between province centres, so your route can differ. Fuel uses the consumption you enter and a list price; the pump may charge a few lira more or less. Bridge tolls are KGM’s per-crossing tariffs, VAT included; for a return trip each bridge you ticked is counted twice unless you change it. Motorway tolls, ferries, parking and wear are not included unless you add them.

- Classes: 1 cars with two axles and axle spacing under 3.20 m; 2 two axles, 3.20 m or more; 3 three axles; 4 four and five axles; 5 six or more axles; 6 motorcycles.
- The class sets the price, not the permission: which vehicles may use which Bosphorus bridge is decided by Istanbul’s transport coordination centre (UKOME), and the tariff does not grant access.
- Motorway tolls between cities are not in this table. KGM’s toll query prices a motorway trip from entry to exit.
The sums behind the receipt
Four figures, each from its own source: kilometres, fuel price, bridge tariff and your own consumption.
The formula
fuel = km × consumption ÷ 100 × price
Total = fuel + bridges (price × crossings) + other tolls. Per person = total ÷ passengers. Every amount is rounded half up to the kuruş. For an electric car the kWh from the socket is the battery energy ÷ (1 − charging loss).
Example 453 km × 7.5 ÷ 100 × 80.38 = ₺2,730.91
Kilometres
KGM’s table of distances between the centres of the 81 provinces. It is a provincial-centre to provincial-centre figure, not door to door, and it says nothing about travel time, so the page shows none.
Fuel price
Petrol (95 octane) and diesel use the OPET list price of the province, read through the Turkpidya data platform on the date shown; the Turkey figure is the mean of the 81 provinces. LPG has no official price here, so you type it. Electric uses the operators’ published tariffs with their check date, or your own price.
Bridges
The five toll bridges use KGM’s per-crossing tariff for your vehicle class. The 15 July Martyrs, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Yavuz Sultan Selim tariffs say both directions are charged; the Osmangazi and 1915 Çanakkale tariffs do not say, so a return trip counts two crossings unless you change it.
What is not included
Motorway tolls, ferries, parking, tyres and servicing. The data holds no route geometry, so the page cannot tell which bridges your route crosses: you choose them.
Take the tables with you

Questions about trip costs in Turkey
How do I work out the cost of a car trip in Turkey?
Multiply the distance by your consumption per 100 km, divide by 100 and multiply by the pump price: 453 km × 7.5 ÷ 100 × 80.38 = ₺2,730.91. Then add the bridge tolls (price per crossing times the number of crossings) and any motorway tolls, and divide the total by the people sharing the car. The calculator above does all of it and prints every line with its source.
How many kilometres is Istanbul to Ankara?
Istanbul to Ankara is 453 km in the table of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) dated 3 March 2026. The same table gives Istanbul – Izmir 566 km, Istanbul – Antalya 715 km, Ankara – Izmir 586 km. All 81 provinces are in the distance table above.
How much does it cost to drive from Istanbul to Ankara?
The table gives 453 km. A petrol car using 7.5 L/100 km pays about ₺2,731 for fuel one way at ₺80.38 a litre (OPET list price in Istanbul on 30 Sept 2026); a diesel car using 6 L/100 km at ₺93.40 pays about ₺2,539. A return trip doubles both. Add the bridge tolls on your route and any motorway tolls, then divide by the passengers: the calculator does it with your own car.
Where do the distances come from, and are they door to door?
They are KGM’s official road distances between the centres of the provinces (table of 3 March 2026), not door to door. Your actual route, a detour or a city centre can add or remove kilometres, and the table carries no travel time, so this page shows none.
Which fuel price does the calculator use?
For petrol (95 octane) and diesel, the OPET list price of the start city as read on 30 September 2026; you can switch to the destination or the Turkey average, or type your own price. A station can charge a few lira more or less, and the data can trail the stations by a day or more. There is no official LPG price here, so you enter it. For an electric car the page uses the operators’ published tariffs with their check date when it has fresh ones, otherwise your own price per kWh.
How much are the bridge tolls in Turkey in 2026?
For a car (class 1), per crossing, VAT included: 15 July Martyrs Bridge ₺59.00 (from 1 Jan 2026); Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge ₺59.00 (from 1 Jan 2026); Osmangazi Bridge ₺1,170.00 (from 1 Jul 2026); Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge ₺110.00 (from 1 Jul 2026); 1915 Çanakkale Bridge ₺1,170.00 (from 1 Jul 2026). Amounts for other vehicle classes are in the tariff table above. KGM publishes each tariff as a PDF, and the table shows the day each one took effect.
Is the bridge toll charged in both directions?
KGM’s tariff for the 15 July Martyrs, Fatih Sultan Mehmet and Yavuz Sultan Selim bridges says both directions are charged. The Osmangazi and 1915 Çanakkale tariffs do not say. For a return trip the calculator counts two crossings for every bridge you tick, and you can change the count with the plus and minus buttons.
Which vehicle class is my car?
Most cars are class 1: two axles with an axle spacing under 3.20 m. Class 2 is two axles with 3.20 m or more, class 3 three axles, class 4 four and five axles, class 5 six or more, class 6 motorcycles. The class sets the price only: which vehicles may use which Bosphorus bridge is decided by Istanbul’s transport coordination centre (UKOME), so check the current rule before you plan a crossing.
Are motorway tolls included?
No. The data holds the five toll bridges but not the motorway tolls, and it does not know which roads your route takes. Look up your trip in KGM’s toll query, add up the amount and type it in “other tolls”: it then joins the total and is split between the passengers.
How accurate is the estimate?
It is a planning figure. The kilometres are the official table’s, the prices are the day’s list prices and tariffs, and the consumption is yours. Real trips differ with the route, speed, load, air conditioning, traffic and the price at the station where you fill up. Keep a margin, especially for long trips.
