How to Make Tirit

Tirit is a very easy and delicious dish to make.

Ingredients of Tirit

  • 500 grams of beef
  • 4 phyllo dough
  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika or tomato paste or Turkish Salça
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 bay leaf

Steps to Cook Tirit

  1. In a pressure cooker, combine the coarsely chopped beef and 2 glasses of water.
  2. Cook for 30-40 minutes, seasoning with salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  3. After the meat has been cooked, shred the fiber with a fork. Separate the meat from the juice.
  4. Roll the dough. Then cut into 2-inch-thick slices. Allow the ring-shaped section of the pieces to face the plate. And then cover the tray with dough pieces.
  5. Pour the broth over the phyllo that has been divided into plates and top with the meat.
  6. Whisk the yogurt and pour it over the meat.
  7. Melt the butter and heat it with the red pepper or tomato paste. Make sure not to burn the butter.
  8. Pour the red oil over the yogurt and serve while it’s still warm.
  9. During Ramadan, you can also make this dish with Ramadan pita. Instead of shredded meat, you can use chicken or roasted ground beef.
