Where to buy
Three kinds of seller matter: the brand’s own shop, its stores and everybody else. For each of them the question is the same: which company is selling, and does the page or the invoice say so?
birkenstock.com.tr
The seller named in the shop’s distance-sales contract is Form Medikal Sağlık Malzemeleri A.Ş. On its about page the company says it has been the brand’s distributor in Turkey since 1987. The shop says every product it sells is genuine and ships with an invoice, and that an order is prepared for the carrier within about two business days. Free shipping starts at 2,000 TL (checked 19.10.2026).
Contact details are on the shop’s own contact page.
Try the pair on
The shop lists 16 stores in three cities. Try both sandals on and ask the questions at the end of this page. The shop says most of its models come in two widths, Normal and Narrow (“Dar”); the filter is called “Kalıp”. Goods bought online cannot be returned to these stores.
The city list is in the next chapter; addresses, phone numbers and hours are on the shop’s store page.
Marketplaces and shops
If a marketplace or another shop offers a pair, that seller sets its own delivery and return terms. Before paying, find the seller’s company name on the product page and make sure it appears on the invoice. The brand’s counterfeit guidance names three safe channels: its own website, its stores and authorized retailers listed in its store locator (that page is written for the US market).
Turkish pages use the word “Satıcı” for the seller.

Is it genuine?
The brand’s own page on counterfeits says the imitations look better than before and are, in many cases, almost impossible to tell from the real thing at first glance. The question is where the pair comes from. The brand states that products from its own website or its own stores are genuine, and the Turkish shop says the same of every product it sells.
Before you pay
The seller, the invoice and the terms are in your hands. Keep them until the return window closes.
Ticks stay on this device. A pair bought somewhere else that you suspect is a fake is reported to the brand’s customer service with the website address, the date and price of the purchase, the seller’s name from the invoice or bank statement, the card type and photos of the product.
Returns of online orders
The shop’s return page sets the steps for an order made on birkenstock.com.tr. A pair bought in a store, or from another seller, follows that seller’s rules.
- Create the requestOn the shop, open “İade Talebi Oluştur” (create a return request) within 14 days. The pair must be unused and in its original box.
- Take the code and the carrierThe screen and an SMS give a return code, a customer code and the carrier to use. Make the request before the parcel leaves your hands.
- Hand it to that carrierThe shop says sending with the carrier it names is free.
- Wait for the checkThe parcel is checked on arrival. If it is approved, the shop says the price goes back to the card within 10 business days; the bank books it in 1 to 3 more business days.
Not in a store, not an exchange
Goods bought on birkenstock.com.tr cannot be returned to a Birkenstock store, and no refund is paid there. The shop does not exchange online orders; the legal right of withdrawal stays.
Paid in instalments: the shop returns the whole amount to the bank in one payment, and the bank books it month by month in the same steps as the instalments, which show as plus and minus lines on the statement.
Make the request early: the shop’s page counts the 14 days from the dispatch confirmation in one line and from delivery in another. How the law counts the withdrawal period, and when return shipping is free, is set out in Consumer rights in Turkey.
Tax Free and the receipt
Tax Free is for visitors who do not live in Türkiye and take the goods out with them. Under Law 3065, article 11/1-b, VAT is refunded when the goods leave. Section II/A-5 of the Revenue Administration (GİB) VAT communiqué sets the floor: goods on one invoice must total more than 1,000 TL before VAT. Shoes carry 10% VAT, so that is more than 1,100 TL on the tags. Take the goods out within three months of the invoice date.
Ask at the till whether the shop issues Tax Free; the invoice carries your passport number. At the border, show the goods and documents to customs so the invoice is approved. Turkish citizens living abroad need a residence document from that country. The refund comes from the shop or a refund company, which keeps a commission shown on the form.
