A dot marks a brand’s store in that district, based on the store lists on the Beymen, Vakko, Ipekyol and Arzu Kaprol websites. Opening hours are shown where the brand’s website lists them. Dilek Hanif welcomes clients at her showroom in Gümüşsuyu (İnönü Cad. No:48/A, Beyoğlu).
For a particular international brand, check Beymen’s store list: the department store runs separate boutiques for many brands in Zorlu Center and İstinyePark. In Nişantaşı, Beymen also runs a Marina Rinaldi store (Abdi İpekçi Cad. No:40/B).

What to bring home from Turkish brands
A scarf. Vakko and Beymen sell silk scarves with tulips, carnations and other Ottoman motifs. They are light, do not crease in a suitcase, and come in a box ready for gifting.
A dress from a Turkish brand. Ipekyol and Arzu Kaprol cost less than international brands, and you will not find these pieces in shops in other countries.
Tax Free. Even one scarf qualifies if the receipt totals over ₺1,000 excluding VAT. Ask for Tax Free paperwork when you pay; the rules are below.
What does a dress cost?
We collected full prices for women’s dresses from ten brands on their websites and beymen.com. Adjust your budget: a brand’s bar fills in if it has a dress within that amount.

Full prices without discounts on ipekyol.com.tr, arzukaprol.com, dilekhanif.com, vakko.com and beymen.com on 12 October 2026. The scale is logarithmic so lower-priced dresses do not merge into a single point. Where a brand has only one price, just one dress was available.
Sales change the picture. On 12 October 2026, two Valentino dresses on beymen.com were selling for ₺72,495 and ₺81,195 instead of ₺168,950, while Dolce&Gabbana dresses started at ₺69,495. Before your trip, check the sale section (İndirim) on the store’s website: prices in store and online usually match, but check with the shop assistant.
Three myths about luxury shopping in Istanbul
There is a Harvey Nichols in Kanyon.
The British department store operated in Kanyon shopping centre from 2006 and left Turkey in April 2021. Look for international brands at Beymen and Vakko now.
International brands are cheaper in Turkey than in Europe.
Not necessarily. Prada dresses on beymen.com start at ₺87,000. Before buying, compare the price with the brand’s website in your country. Sales and Turkish brands can offer better value.
Tax Free always refunds 18%.
The refund covers the VAT amount shown on the receipt, and the rate depends on the goods. Intermediary companies may deduct a fee; they state the amount payable on their form.
Tax Free: how to reclaim VAT
In Turkey, VAT is called KDV. It is refunded to passengers taking purchases abroad. The rules are set out in the VAT law (Article 11) and the general communiqué on its application (KDV Genel Uygulama Tebliği).
Threshold · from 1 Feb 2024
A receipt over ₺1,000 excluding VAT qualifies for a VAT refund.
The amount is calculated per invoice (fatura), excluding VAT. If there are several items on the receipt, their prices are added together. All goods qualify except petroleum products in List I of the ÖTV tax. Services such as restaurants, hotels and tailoring do not qualify for VAT refunds.
The store must offer Tax Free: it needs authorisation from the tax authority or an agreement with an intermediary company. Ask before paying.
Enter your purchase amount and dates. The receipt below will show which conditions you meet and how much VAT you can reclaim.
Receipt check
Can you reclaim VAT on this purchase?
Example: a dress costing ₺24,000 excluding VAT, receipt dated 12 October 2026, departure on 20 October 2026, buyer living outside Turkey.
Tax Free · your receipt
- SumThe amount excluding VAT, ₺24,000, is over ₺1,000: the threshold is met.
- BuyerYou live outside Turkey: show your passport when buying; its number will be recorded on the receipt.
- ExportYou must take the purchase out by 12 January 2027: departure on 20 October 2026 is in time.
- To sellerReturn the customs-stamped invoice to the seller by 20 January 2027.
VAT to reclaim
VAT refundable
Use the VAT amount from the KDV line on your receipt: the rate depends on the goods. If an intermediary company handles the receipt, you may receive less.
In the shop and at the airport
- When payingAsk for Tax Free and show your passport. The seller will issue the invoice in four copies and give you three. They will enter your passport number on the invoice.
- Before checking bagsKeep your purchases with you: the customs officer must see them. You must take them out of the country within three months of the invoice date.
- At customsShow the goods, invoices and your passport. The officer will stamp the invoice. Leave two of your three copies with them.
- PaymentIf the store gave you a bank cheque for the refund, collect the money at the bank branch in the customs area, in foreign currency or lira. Otherwise, send the stamped invoice to the seller within three months of departure: they will transfer the money within 10 days.

Before departure
A route for one day

The European side in one day
- 10:00
- Nişantaşı: Beymen and Vakko on Abdi İpekçi street, then the nearby boutiques.
- 14:00
- Zorlu Center: separate international brand boutiques, plus Beymen, Vakko and Ipekyol again.
- 18:00
- Galataport: Beymen, Ipekyol and Arzu Kaprol on the waterfront, then dinner with a Bosphorus view.
Beymen and Vakko in Nişantaşı close at 20:00, so start there. İstinyePark is far to the north; it is best to set aside a separate half-day for it. Bağdat Caddesi on the Asian side combines well with a stroll around Kadıköy.

Dilek Hanif offers couture by appointment at her showroom at İnönü Cad. No:48/A in Gümüşsuyu. Bear in mind: tailoring services do not qualify for VAT refunds.
