BMW Turkey Prices: Full 2026 List, Taxes and Turkish Specifications

Every new BMW on Borusan’s list, from ₺4.08 million to ₺26.8 million: why up to three quarters of the price is tax, and why Turkish versions have smaller engines.

From the smallest hatchback to the biggest SUV, one rule sets the tax: engine size, motor power and price.

A new BMW in Turkey costs from ₺4,079,500 for a 120 Sport Line to ₺26,786,700 for an X6 M Competition, on Borusan Otomotiv’s price list checked on 5 October 2026. Between 46% and 74% of that is tax. Tax is also why many BMWs sold here have smaller engines or weaker electric motors than the same badge abroad: Turkey’s car tax jumps above 1,600 cc and above 160 kW.

In short

A new BMW starts at ₺4.08 million, and tax is up to three quarters of the bill.

  • Cheapest: the 120 Sport Line at ₺4,079,500. Cheapest electric: the iX1 eDrive20 Sport Line at ₺4,304,800.
  • Tax: ÖTV of 55% to 220% on the car’s pre-tax price, then 20% KDV on top of both.
  • Turkish versions: the 320i has a 1.6-litre engine, and the i4 eDrive40, i5 eDrive40 and iX3 50 xDrive have 160 kW (218 hp).
  • Not in the list price: options, traffic insurance and the first-registration fee.

Two things stand out. Packages change the price, not the engine: a 320i M Sport costs ₺491,700 more than the Sport Line, with the same 170 hp. And the electric version is often the cheaper one: the i4 eDrive40 M Sport costs ₺568,200 less than the 420i Gran Coupé M Sport, and the iX1 eDrive20 M Sport ₺472,500 less than the X1 sDrive20i M Sport.

Where the money goes: the tax tower

Turkey taxes a new car twice. First comes ÖTV, the special consumption tax, as a percentage of the car’s price before tax. Then 20% KDV, Turkish VAT, is charged on the car and the ÖTV together. The higher the ÖTV band, the faster the bill grows.

How the bill is built

  1. The carThe importer’s price before tax. On a BMW at 100% ÖTV, it is about 42% of what you pay.
  2. ÖTVThe car’s price times the band: 55%, 75%, 100%, 170% or 220% on Borusan’s list. Engine size, motor power and the pre-tax price set the band.
  3. KDV20% of the car and the ÖTV together, so VAT is also paid on the ÖTV.

On a 220% BMW, every ₺1 of car carries ₺2.84 of tax.

These are the five bands BMW’s list falls into. Cheaper cars below ₺1.65 million before tax get lower rates, down to 25% for small electric cars, but no new BMW is that cheap.

Same badge, smaller engine

Look down the engine column and a pattern appears. The 320i, 420i, 520i and X3 20 all have a 1,597 cc engine: three cc under the 1,600 cc line, above which ÖTV jumps from 100% to 170%. The electric BMWs do the same with power. The i4 eDrive40, i5 eDrive40 and iX3 50 xDrive are sold here with 160 kW (218 hp), right on the line between the 55% and 75% bands.

Figures from BMW Türkiye and BMW Group for other markets; the i5 abroad briefly gives 430 Nm with Sport Boost. For most driving the Turkish versions are enough; the gap shows when overtaking or fully loaded. The gain is the price: the 1,597 cc 520i M Sport costs ₺2,328,700 less than the 1,995 cc 520d xDrive M Sport.

Three myths about BMW prices here

Myth 1

“M Sport means a faster car.”

Fact

Not on this list. The Sport Line and M Sport versions of a model have the same engine and power; the package changes equipment and styling. A 320i has 170 hp either way, and the M Sport costs ₺491,700 more.

Myth 2

“Electric BMWs get the lowest tax.”

Fact

The 25% band is only for electric cars under ₺1.65 million before tax, and no BMW is. The smaller ones pay 55%, the stronger ones 75%. That still beats 100%: the i4 eDrive40 M Sport costs ₺568,200 less than the 420i Gran Coupé M Sport.

Myth 3

“The list price is what you pay.”

Fact

It is a ceiling for the base car. The dealer may sell for less, never for more than the list on the invoice day. Options, traffic insurance and the first-registration fee come on top.

11 electric model lines are on the list, from the iX1 eDrive20 Sport Line at ₺4,304,800 to the i7 M70 at ₺16,169,400. Up to 160 kW they pay 55% ÖTV; above it, 75%.

Range on the WLTP test, as BMW Türkiye gives it: 510–613 km for the i4 eDrive40 and 679–805 km for the iX3 50 xDrive, which keeps the same 108.7 kWh battery as abroad. On a fast charger the iX3 goes from 10% to 80% in about 21 minutes, the i4 in about 30. Expect less range in winter and at motorway speed.

An electric car or a plug-in hybrid (the 230e, X1 xDrive25e and M5 on this list) only pays off if you can charge where you park every night. Before you buy, check where that will be: your own space, the building’s car park or work. Fast chargers on the motorway are for trips, not for daily life.

3 years, no kilometre limit, for cars bought from 1 January 2024: 2 years of legal warranty plus 1 extra year that covers faults inside Turkey only.

8 years or 160,000 km for electric BMWs, 8 years or 120,000 km for plug-in hybrids, whichever comes first.

Questions people ask

Why are BMWs so much cheaper in Germany?

Mostly tax. In Turkey ÖTV of 55% to 220% and then 20% KDV are added to the car’s price; in Germany a new car carries 19% VAT. On a 220% car, tax is about 74% of the Turkish price.

Does the list price include the first year’s road tax?

It includes the first motor vehicle tax (MTV) payment, together with the plates and the registration document. Traffic insurance and the first-registration fee (harç) are not included.

Can a dealer charge more than the list?

No. Borusan’s list gives the highest turnkey price. The dealer may charge less, but not more than the list in force on the day of the invoice.

Which BMW pays the least tax?

Electric BMWs with up to 160 kW: the iX1, iX2, i4 eDrive40, i5 eDrive40 and iX3 50 xDrive pay 55% ÖTV. About 46% of their price is tax, against 58% for a car in the 100% band.

How often do the prices change?

Often: importers update their lists several times a year, with exchange rates and tax changes. Check Borusan’s list on the day you buy; the prices here were checked on 5 October 2026.
