Turkish clothing manufacturers and wholesalers: checked contacts

There are three ways to buy clothing in Turkey: ready-made stock in wholesale size packs, production to your specifications, or a partnership with a major brand. Choose how you want to buy, then choose the company. Here you’ll find six firms with checked contacts, a size-pack calculator and ready-to-use enquiries in English and Turkish.

Three ways to buy

For a boutique’s first stock order, start with ready-made goods. For your own brand, prepare a design and specification. For a shop under a major chain’s name, discuss a partnership with its team.

Look for quantity and size terms in the catalogue. When speaking to the seller, show the exact item code and ask for the size pack to be written down. Tap a word below to show it on your phone, hear its pronunciation or copy it into your enquiry.

Six firms with checked contacts

Choose a product range to see the right contact. Keep your message brief: what kind of shop you run, which styles you want and how many pieces you plan to order. The addresses come from the companies’ websites. Arrange an appointment and ask whether you’ll be visiting a showroom, office or production site before planning your trip.

Size packs: calculate your carton

MOQ means minimum order quantity: Do-Minik shows 4 pieces for style 25-3029, while Mono Uomo starts at 6 per product. A size series is the breakdown by size, and a pack is the unit you buy; ask for its contents in writing before calculating.

The sample: what to check

Approve a physical sample before ordering the production run. Measure the finished garment, inspect the workmanship and record the results. Tap the points on the shirt: each shows what to check. Compare the colour with the approved fabric under the same light.

Payment without surprises

Before transferring money, compare the seller’s name, the company on the invoice and the payment recipient. Confirm the bank details through your known company contact. The example quotation below contains several clues that call for a check. Tap the suspicious parts to see what to ask for before proceeding.

Include the terms for shortages, defects and returns in the written quotation. Agree on the deadline for reporting a problem, the photos needed, who pays for transport and how a replacement or credit note will be arranged. Keep the sample, invoice and correspondence together.

Importing into the EU and beyond

Into the EU, plan a customs declaration and import VAT at your country’s rate. The EU–Turkey customs union covers industrial goods, including clothing: with an A.TR movement certificate they enter without customs duty. A.TR proves free-circulation status, not origin; check the tariff code with a customs representative before you order. Outside the EU, duty and taxes depend on your country’s rules for goods from Turkey: ask a customs broker before you order.

2. A.TRFor imports into the EU, agree with the supplier and customs representative on the document for the applicable customs status.
3. Declaration and taxesPrepare the customs declaration and budget for import VAT, and duty outside the EU.
4. Label before saleProvide a firmly attached, legible fibre composition label in the language of the country of sale for consumers.

The importer usually pays the import VAT or tax. Clarify who arranges customs representation. If your company is the importer, prepare its details and EORI number (EU and UK). Agree on the delivery location: the border, a terminal or your warehouse. State in the written quotation who pays for transport, clearance and taxes.

For the label, follow Regulation (EU) No 1007/2011, Articles 14–16: the composition must be legible and accessible, and the importer supplies the label when the manufacturer is outside the EU. Each member state may require its own language, so prepare the composition in the language of the country of sale, with safety warnings and instructions for use. Outside the EU, check your country’s labelling rules.

Before the deposit

Pay when you’ve recorded and confirmed everything on the list. The ticks stay on this device and help you finish preparing. Gather the documents in one folder and send a final summary to the supplier: styles, colours, sizes, quantities, deadline and address. Ask for a written reply confirming the order.
