Requirements to apply for Turkey scholarship
There are 2 criteria to be able to apply for the Turkish scholarship :
- Minimum Academic Criteria:
- Minimum academic achievement for Bachelor’s degree applicants: 70%
- Minimum academic achievement for Master’s and Doctorate degree applicants: 75%
- Minimum academic achievement for Health Science (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy) applicants: 90%
- Age Criteria:
- To be under the age of 21 for Undergraduate programs
- To be under the age of 30 for Master’s programs
- To be under the age of 35 for Doctorate programs
Turkish scholarship eligibility
- Citizens of all countries
- Graduates or applicants who are able to graduate at the end of the current academic year (before August 2021)
- Researchers and academicians
Non eligible groups
- Turkish citizens and those who have lost Turkish citizenship
- Students already registered in Turkish universities at the level of study they are applying for.
How To Apply
You can apply in Turkey burslari by applying from the system from here.
People who want to apply for the Turkish scholarship must send and upload the documents they need to the system.
Applications that are sent by mail, courier, or hand won’t be taken into account, you can only apply on the scholarship system.
The application is free to use, you will choose from 12 preferences in the application process will determine where they go to school and what program they will be in.
Required documents to apply for the Turkish scholarship
The following documents are required while applying for Turkey scholarship:
- A valid National Identification Document OR a valid Passport
- A recent Photo of the candidate
- National exam scores (required for candidates who do not possess any international qualification or certification)
- Diploma or temporary certificate of Graduation
- Academic transcripts (online screenshots and uncertified transcripts will undermine the evaluation of your application)
- International exam scores (GRE, GMAT, DELF, YDS, YÖS …etc. if required by the chosen university & program)
- Language test scores (if required by the chosen university & program)
- A research proposal and an example of your written work (for PhD applicants only)
Evaluation and Selection Process
A person’s academic performance, extracurricular activities, and other professional skills are taken into account when they apply for a Turkey scholarship.
As part of the application process, candidates will be looked at based on their skills and also on their academic and social accomplishments, which will be taken into account.
The first evaluation:
All applications are looked at for basic things like a minimum academic grade point average, a certain age limit, and what kind of documentation is needed.
Shortlisting:
Expert committees look at each person’s application very carefully. They look at things like their academic status, previous credentials, academic interests, professional aspirations, consistency of choices, clarity of the letter of intent, involvement in social activities, and so on. Following that, a list of people who are qualified for interviews is made.
Interview:
Short-listed candidates are interviewed by groups of people from more than 100 countries.
The Turkish scholarship interview usually last between 15 and 30 minutes and are done as follows:
- The committee will look at the candidate’s documents and ask questions about their goals and academic and professional knowledge.
- The committee will also look at the candidate’s motivation to apply and ask questions.

- Ending and questions to the committee
Selection:
A selection committee looks at the interview results of candidates suggested by interview committees. A list of candidates who will get a scholarship is made. This is the last step in the process, and it will determine whether or not the candidate is a good fit for Turkish Scholarships.
Note: Candidates who are selected for interviews must bring all transcripts, documents and certificates of each year they have studied if they have not graduated yet.
Turkish scholarship results
First-time applicants are only told by e-mail that they’ve been accepted. They have to go to the Turkish Embassy for an interview in March. Candidates from countries where there is no Turkish embassy because of unusual circumstances don’t get an interview and get to the final acceptance directly.
The winners of the scholarship will be notified by email and on the scholarship website when they have been officially accepted.
