Law No. 6197, Article 24: “İlaçların internet veya başkaca herhangi bir elektronik ortamda satışı yapılamaz.” Medicines may not be sold over the internet or through any other electronic medium. An eczane address is a cardboard sign, not a pharmacy. Article 24 bans websites in a pharmacy’s name. Practice on a fictional site: six warning signs. One: eczane in the address, but pharmacies can’t run websites. Two: “no questions”, when a pharmacist’s job is to ask. Three: an antibiotic online, with no prescription. Four: −70% “today only” is pressure, not proof. Five: a cream that “treats”, but cosmetics don’t treat. Six: WhatsApp only, with no company and no address. One shelf, four rules. Medicine, ilaç in Turkish: pharmacy only, never online. Supplement, takviye edici gıda: online if it’s on the ministry’s approved list. Cosmetic, kozmetik: online, but check the product and the seller. Medical device, tıbbi cihaz: online only from an authorised seller. By day, any pharmacy with a red E. At night, the nöbetçi eczane: the duty pharmacy, on a daily rota. Door closed? Ring the bell at the entrance. Show it to the pharmacist: “En yakın nöbetçi eczane nerede?” Where is the nearest duty pharmacy? All the pharmacy phrases are in the guide.
