Pharmacy Open Now in Turkey? How to Find a Duty Pharmacy (Nöbetçi Eczane)

Turkish pharmacies close in the evening, on Sundays and on holidays, but a duty pharmacy (nöbetçi eczane) stays open. How to find one: look for the ECZANE sign with the red E, read the duty list on a closed pharmacy's door or on the pharmacists' chamber website by district (İlçe), and check when the shift ends (Nöbet bitişi). At night the door may be locked, so ring the bell. At the counter, show a card in Turkish with the active ingredient, strength and form. Antibiotics need a doctor's prescription, and selling medicines online is banned in Turkey. Checked 5 October 2026.

Pharmacy closed in Turkey? In the evening, on Sundays and on holidays, a duty pharmacy is open: the nöbetçi eczane. Look for the ECZANE sign with a red E. A closed pharmacy posts the duty list on its door, with addresses and phone numbers. The duty list is on the site of the city's chamber of pharmacists: pick İlçe, the district, check when the duty ends, and call ahead. At night the door may be locked: a duty pharmacy has a doorbell and must serve anyone who rings. At the counter, show a card in Turkish: active ingredient, strength, form and prescription. You can make it in the article. Antibiotics are sold only with a prescription, and controlled medicines need red or green prescriptions. Selling medicines online is banned in Turkey. Ask: En yakın nöbetçi eczane nerede? Where is the nearest duty pharmacy? Duty lists by city, the card for the pharmacist and phrases are in the full guide on turkpidya.com.
