Turkey Plug Type and Voltage: Will Your Charger Work?

Turkey uses type C and F sockets at 230 V and 50 Hz, the same supply as the UK. From the UK take a G to C/F adapter; from the US an A/B to C/F adapter, and check the INPUT on your charger. Devices made only for 110–120 V need a converter. Checked 5 October 2026.

Will your charger work in Turkey? Turkish sockets are type C and F: a C or F plug fits straight in. The supply is 230 volts at 50 hertz, the same as in the UK. From the UK or Ireland, take a G to C/F adapter. The supply is the same, so you don’t need a voltage converter. From the US or Canada, take an A/B to C/F adapter, and check the label for 230 volts and 50 hertz. Read the INPUT on your charger. 100 to 240 volts includes Turkey’s 230, and most phone and laptop chargers accept it. If a device says 110 to 120 volts only, like many hair dryers, leave it at home: an adapter changes the plug, not the voltage. Forgot one? At an electronics shop such as Teknosa, ask: Priz adaptörü var mı? Do you have a plug adapter? Check your plug and your label in two taps in the full guide on turkpidya.com.
