Documents required to complete the export process from Turkey

It is essential for exporters in Turkey to know the documents required for the exporting process in Turkey before proceeding with the shipment. These documents include:

Commercial invoice

It is a document that contains the whole description of the shipment, the cost per unit, the total quantity, the mode of delivery, the HS code, the cargo’s country of origin, the method of payment, and the receipt. The document is also generated by the exporter as a payment receipt for the items supplied to the importer under the sales agreement and is presented three times with the inclusion of the original, which is one of the papers submitted to customs services to clear goods in import and export.

Certificate of Origin

The Certificate of Origin is also prepared by the exporter and submitted to the third party which is usually the Department of Commerce and Industry and the relevant Chambers of Commerce. The document also indicates that the country of production of the goods meets the standards of the importing government. The documents are always prepared in English in duplicate and the documents are submitted to the customs agency at the point of import.

Shipping Policy

It is a document used as evidence of the contract between the shipper and the carrier. The document must also follow the goods transported and must be signed by the appropriate representative of the sender, recipient and carrier. The document is issued primarily to prevent property theft.

Proforma invoice

The Proforma invoice is a document issued by the exporter to the buyer stating the value, quantity and types of goods to be delivered. And unlike a commercial invoice, it is not issued upon payment but can be used to apply for an import permit. This document also contains sufficient information for the customs service to determine the required fees for goods from a general appraisal.

Health certificate

A health certificate is an import and export document that is prepared by the government of the exporting country and issued to the government of the importing country. The document, which is usually prepared by the Department of Agriculture in the country, certifies that agricultural products, whether livestock or crops, are healthy and fit for human consumption and meet the requirements of the importing country.

Special import and export requirements

This part deals with the various documents that must be collected when exporting in Turkey some special goods such as pharmaceutical products, precious stones and gold.
